Black Watch
Our own 34ft Blackwatch, fitted with an
onboard computer sytem running Nobeltec Admiral 9.1fully
integrated with Ocens Weathernet and Grib Explorer
providing for on-board weather downloading facilities of
the following data.

High resolution sea surface temperatures
-
Wind data
-
Ocean currents
-
Plankton dispercement
-
Sea surface height anomalies
-
Synoptic charts and all of this can be
viewed the way it is meant to be - in 3D as well as in
cross-section!

This sytem is interfaced with the following
other equipment:
- Dual monitors (sunlight viewable 15" screed on the
flybridge)
- Infrared wireless keyboard and mouse
- GPS with WAAS
- 4 Kw 36 mile Digital Radar IR2 with direct chart
overlay, target tracking etc (ARPA, MARPA and AIS
capable)
- Autopilot
- DSP enabled HF and VHF radio equipment to provide all
the information required to broadcast an automated
emergency distress signal
- On board entertainment (This computer system also
provides all the music on board and capture video when
required
- Nobeltec Digital Insight sounder (1kw)
- Bathy recorder
- Passport charts (Transas)
This way, our modular fully upgradeable electronic system
remains at the cutting edge of technology, with relatively
inexpensive sofware upgrades rather than the need to replace
expensive redundant components |

A 48ft Buddy Davis express, retro fitted
with a rugged laptop running the Nobeltec Admiral 9.1,
Ocens Weathernet and Grib Explorer |
This installation is interfaced with other
previously fitted stand-alone equipment from Furuno and
Northstar to provide:
- A totally portable solution for the owner (who
resides inland)
- With enhanced navigation and route planning
capabilities, not available from his existing
electronics
- On board and remote downloading of and access to
advanced weather and ocean conditions
- The ability to plan his boat usage trips well in
advance, based on soud weather and ocean information.
- The ability to study and analyze the captured data at
his leisure when back at home, thus systematically
improving on his chances to fish at the right time and
place while saving the money previously spent on
fruitless outings.

which will be fitted with an onboard computer sytem running

downloading facilities AS well as a similarly configured
laptop to provide full portability as well as a complete
backup for the on-board computer |
